Thanks to a $200,000 matching grant from the NH Department of Natural and Cultural Resources the Riverfront Park now has $400,000 to kickstart the project. In March 2018, at the Lincoln Town Meeting, a motion passed to allocate $200K to the Riverfront Park project – on the condition that this grant was received. And now it has been received!
If you are not familiar with the Riverfront Park project, it is a plan to develop of 18 acres in downtown Lincoln into a full recreational space. This will be a centerpiece to the community with open green space, playground, boat launch, bike paths, dog park, and of course a skate park. It will make use of an otherwise overgrown space and serve residents and visitors alike.
Members of the skate park committee have worked diligently over the last two years to develop the Riverfront Park master plan in order to make sure that the area is maximized to its fullest potential. The rendering above is a blueprint of the park plan.
In order to make this Riverfront Park a reality, the skate park must reach its fundraising goal. The energy behind the skate park mission has been a catalyst for this larger park to gain momentum. We must keep pushing – we’re almost there!
